19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of that year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour title, took control to force a third set.
The opponent saved four early chances in a tight third set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
