The acclaimed police drama Line of Duty will make a comeback for its 7th installment, confirmed by the BBC.

An upcoming six-episode series written by Jed Mercurio starts production in Belfast in the coming months, as confirmed by the production team.

The actress shared her enthusiasm about the comeback, stating she was "so excited" about the show's renewal. Her co-star added, "How wonderful it is to know that the Three Amigos will be back filming together next year."

The last season wrapped up in recent years with a finale that drew in more than 17 million viewers. Speculation about a potential return have been widespread for some time, but confirmation only came recently.

The seventh season begins with AC-12 having been disbanded and rebranded as the new police oversight body, according to the announcement.

Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Adrian Dunbar's part continue working to tackle corruption within the law enforcement.
