Fans Call for Arrest of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande

Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a individual who breached a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the individual from Australia pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the cast made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was scheduled to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account features recordings of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last winter.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over the Star's Safety

Many followers criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further response on Instagram.

Some attendees also criticised event staff at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Many of fans had congregated in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The movie, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film version of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two distinct sorceresses.

The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, winning two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
