Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician stands accused of carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
