The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome could have created opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - rather than the calm, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
Miami have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?
One could pick holes in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 wins coming against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos
The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his team to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score
While you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but face the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There is a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a game
Both could easily be undefeated as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a score
Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 yards, registering three scores and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
