In a surprising partnership that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.

The adventure centers on "strange tests and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Transformations

The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Update

This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
